What is the Georgia Pediatric Program?
GAPP – Georgia Pediatric Program
GAPP (Georgia Pediatric Program) is a Medicaid program that provides services to medically fragile children 6mth-21yrs in need of skilled nursing care with NO COST to the family. Services are provided in their homes and communities. This program was created to aid parents with the assistance of their child’s everyday living needs i.e. Feeding assistance, Bathing, Incontinence care, Transfer assistance, Grooming, Getting dressed, G-tube care, Medication administration etc. This care will be provided by one of our licensed professionals.
The In-Home Skilled Nursing Program is designed to serve eligible members based on a medical necessity determination for children under the age of 20 years 11 months. We are here to make an even better environment for you and your child to ensure that they receive the supports that they need.

Does your Child need help with everyday living Activities I.E. Feeding assistance, Incontinence care, transfer Assistance, bathing, etc.? Does your Child have Medicaid? If so, then your Child may qualify for free in-home Care services.
In-Home Program
- The Georgia Pediatric In-Home Nursing Program services medically fragile children, under 21 years of age. Children must require skilled nursing care and currently be receiving physician-ordered services to be considered eligible for this program.
Medicaid & Katie Beckett
- GAPP Services comes at NO COST to members of Medicaid or Katie Beckett. The Katie Beckett Waiver takes the parent’s income out of the picture and bases the decision on the child’s needs.

Eligibility for GAPP (Georgia Pediatric Program)
- The child must be under the age of 21.
- Must be a Georgia resident and eligible for Medicaid.
- The child must have complex medical conditions that require skilled nursing care or continuous medical monitoring.
- A physician's assessment confirming the medical necessity of in-home care services is required.
Services Provided by GAPP
- Skilled Nursing Care: Medical care provided by licensed nurses, including administration of medications, treatments, and medical monitoring.
- Personal Care Assistance: Help with daily activities such as dressing, grooming, and bathing.
- Therapeutic Services: Coordination with therapies including physical, speech, or occupational therapy when needed.
- Care Coordination: Development and management of personalized care plans tailored to the child’s specific needs.
- Family Support: Guidance and education for family members to help them provide effective care.

- This program is not a waiver service, which will allow your child to receive services immediately following service approval.
- Intake and evaluation typically takes up to 30 days for service approval.
- Parents are involved with the development of their child’s service plan of treatment along with any service goals.
