Veteran Care
Veteran Care services are designed to support veterans and their families by providing comprehensive healthcare, rehabilitation, and assistance with daily living. These services ensure that veterans receive the medical attention and care they deserve after their service. Veteran care includes both physical health care, such as treatment for injuries or illnesses, and mental health services for conditions like PTSD or depression.
Veterans may also receive assistance with mobility, personal care, and home modifications to enhance their quality of life. Home-based care options allow veterans to stay in familiar surroundings while receiving the necessary medical and personal support. Additionally, caregiver support is available to assist family members in managing the needs of veterans.
These services are often available through various government programs like the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and other community-based organizations, ensuring that veterans get the care they need without unnecessary financial burden.

Aid & Attendance and Housebound
- Veterans and survivors who are eligible for a VA pension and require the aid and attendance of another person, or are housebound, may be eligible for additional monetary payment. These benefits are paid in addition to monthly pension, and they are not paid without eligibility to Pension.
- Since Aid and Attendance and Housebound allowances increase the pension amount, people who are not eligible for a basic pension due to excessive income may be eligible for pension at these increased rates. A Veteran or surviving spouse may not receive Aid and Attendance benefits and Housebound benefits at the same time.
Aid & Attendance (A&A)

- You are a patient in a nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity
- Your eyesight is limited to a corrected 5/200 visual acuity or less in both eyes: or concentric contraction of the visual field to 5 degrees or less
4. Home and Community-Based Services
- Veterans can receive home-based care such as nursing services, assistance with daily activities (dressing, bathing, etc.), and help with medication management. Programs like Veteran-Directed Care allow veterans to choose their caregivers and care services.
5. Caregiver Support Programs
- Family caregivers of veterans can receive training and respite care services to help them manage their caregiving responsibilities. These programs offer financial assistance, training, and counseling to reduce caregiver stress.
